CBS has launched a streaming service called CBS Sports HQ. The new service will cover sports 24 hours a day, offers solid platform support from the get-go, and – best of all – is completely free.
CBS Sports HQ offers a constant, round-the-clock stream of sports news and commentary. It’s ad-supported, so you can expect to see commercials from time to time. For now, there’s no sign of live sports on the service – instead, think highlights and analysis along the line of what you’d see on SportsCenter.
Still, you can’t beat the price, and CBS Sports HQ is a dream come true for sports-fan cord cutters who miss around-the-clock TV coverage of football, baseball, basketball, and more.
You can find the new service on CBS Sports’ website, or you can download the latest version of the CBS Sports app, which is already available for all kinds of streaming devices: you can get it for Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, iOS, and Android devices.
CBS Sports HQ isn’t its parent company’s first foray into the streaming world. CBS already runs a paid streaming service, CBS All Access, which offers on-demand CBS content and live feeds of local CBS stations in select regions.
