ESPN+ Black Friday Deals & Cyber Monday Sales

If you're looking for the 2019 ESPN+ Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals for 2019, you've come to the right place.

Here at Cordcutting.com, our mission is to provide you with the latest deals and information about the most popular streaming services out there. Using our website and receiving our alerts will save you loads of time and countless coins. So…

The ESPN+ Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals are coming…are you ready?

What Should I Look for When Searching for the 2019 ESPN+ Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals?

Always do your homework before purchasing anything online. This would include knowing what to look for when searching for the 2019 ESPN+ Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals.

Does ESPN+ offer coverage of your favorite sports teams, or would another dedicated sports channel serve you better?

Before subscribing to any streaming service, consider signing up for a free trial to determine if you are going to like that service or not. If you don't, Cordcutting.com has other streaming services you could check out instead. ESPN+ does actually offer a 7-day free trial. Just remember to cancel before the free trial ends; otherwise, you will have to pay the monthly service fee. However, if you cancel within seven days of the first bill after you sign up, you will still be able to receive a refund.

ESPN+ doesn't require you to sign any contracts, their service is month-to-month, and you can cancel at any time.

You are required to have a paid subscription through your cable, satellite, or a streaming service, if you want to watch ESPN+. The ESPN+ app is simply a gatekeeper that requires you to sign in before accessing their programming.

ESPN+ is not free from advertising even though it is a subscription service. However, the advertising is limited.

Where Can I Find the 2019 ESPN+ Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals?

Yep, you guessed it. The ESPN+ Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals have not been released yet. However, we would be happy to let you know as soon as they are. Go to the Cordcutting.com Home page, then to the right-sidebar, from there, enter your email address in the “Never miss an update” box, and we will let you know when ESPN+ releases their 2019 Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals.

What Were ESPN+'s Previous Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals?

ESPN+ was just launched early last year. So there aren't really any Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals from last year per se. When ESPN launched ESPN+, they offered 30-days of service for free along with some bundle discounts which carried over through Black Friday, Cyber Monday and beyond.

What Are the Potential 2019 ESPN+ Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals?

Since we don't have anything to compare with from last year, we really don't know what to expect from them when it comes to what they might offer for Black Friday and Cyber Monday this year. ESPN+ has been building in popularity; therefore, they don't have to offer deep discounts like they did when their service was new. This is because their service now has a pretty good foothold. So I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

How Can I Get Alerts for the 2019 ESPN+ Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals?

To get ESPN alerts, you can enter your email address on the Cordcutting.com Home page in the box on the right side of the page that says “Never miss an update.” Then, we will send you an alert just as soon as the 2019 ESPN+ Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals are revealed.

Part of getting a good deal is learning what you can about the particular products and services you are thinking about buying. So here are a few things to consider when searching for the 2019 Disney Plus Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals.

Disney Plus doesn't launch until November 12, 2019. However, they are currently offering preorders in the U.S. for $6.99 a month or $69.99 per year with a 7-day free trial period. Anytime you are considering a new service, it's a good idea to take advantage of the free trial so you can see if you are going to like the service before you commit.

Does Disney Plus have the shows your kids watch the most? If not, we have other options for you to consider on our Cordcutting.com website.

Disney Plus doesn't contain any advertising.

Before signing up, make sure you read the fine print. For example, does the service automatically renew each month and exactly what you need to do if you decide to cancel.

Does whatever brand you're considering require you to sign a long-term contract, do they have any hidden fees or any other requirement you need to be aware of? Disney Plus does not, at least not that they have revealed just yet.

Where Can I Find the 2019 Disney Plus Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals?

Disney Plus just started offering some prelaunch specials as we mentioned above. However, since it will not be officially launched until November 12, 2019, we don't expect any Disney Plus Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals until then, and maybe not even then, since they are currently offering such an affordable price for this service. So you don't have to wait for the holiday sales to get a fantastic deal, you can go ahead and signup now while the price is still really low.

What Were Disney Plus' Previous Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals?

Since Disney Plus wasn't available last year, so there are no previous Disney Plus Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals to speak of.

What Are the Potential 2019 Disney Plus Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals?

We don't anticipate any Disney Plus Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals this year since they are offering a prelaunch special right now. But who knows, we could be wrong. We'll all just have to wait and see if Disney surprises us. The one thing we do know though is that you probably won't get a better deal on the price than right now. So don't wait!

How Can I Get Alerts for the 2019 Disney Plus Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals?

Even though Disney Plus hasn't launched yet, nor are they currently advertising any Disney Plus Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals, we are staying on top of it. If you want to be the first to know when and if they do, please go to the Cordcutting.com Home page, then go to the right side of that page and enter your email address in the box that says “Never miss an update.” Then, the moment we find out about any deals or holiday special pricing, we will send you an alert immediately.

What Should I Look for When Searching for the 2019 Netflix Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals?

It's always a good idea to do a little research before subscribing to a streaming service. Here are some things we recommend you look for to help eliminate the chances of you encountering any issues.

Does Netflix carry all the channels and shows you and your family watch on a regular basis? Knowing this will help you avoid subscribing to a streaming service only to find out they don't carry one of your favorite shows. However, if they don't have the channels and shows you need, check out some of the other streaming services we've highlighted on our website.

Does your chosen streaming service offer a free trial period before subscribing? A free trial is the best way to find out if that service is easy to use and has all the shows and channels your entire family needs. Netflix offers one of the longest free trial periods in the industry. Netflix offers a 30-day free trial period. It doesn't get much better than that!

Netflix will let you cancel your free trial at any time, and they will remind you when your free trial is about to end so you can decide whether you want to continue with them or not. If you end up subscribing, Netflix will automatically charge you every month until you cancel.

You should also find out if your chosen streaming service requires you to sign a contract or if it has any hidden fees. Fortunately, Netflix doesn't require a contract and there are no hidden fees.

Does the streaming service you are considering have advertisements or is it commercial-free? Some streaming services do come with commercials depending on your chosen plan. Fortunately, Netflix is commercial-free.

Where Can I Find the 2019 Netflix Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals?

Just enter your email address in the box that says “Never miss an update” on the Home page of our website at Cordcutting.com, we will update you as soon as the Netflix Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals are announced.

What Were Netflix's Previous Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals?

What Are the Potential 2019 Netflix Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals?

Netflix is a hard one to figure. Their ads from 2018 are no longer available for review and their only special at this time is a 30-day free trial, which is longer than anyone else's, so that's good. However, we don't see that they are offering anything else to entice you to subscribe to their services. Therefore, we have no way of predicting or even guessing what they might do this year…or not. But don't worry, we have plenty of other streaming options from which you can choose if you don't want to wait.

How Can I Get Alerts for the 2019 Netflix Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals?

Never fear, because Cordcutting.com is here to show you how to watch Pixar movies without cable (and without VHS tapes and DVDs, too).

Below, we'll tell you about all of the different ways you can watch Pixar films sans cable and sans DVDs. We'll cover everything from on-demand subscription services like Disney+ to one-off rentals and digital purchase options. We'll also cover Pixar's short films and TV series.

How to watch Pixar movies online

When it comes to specific movies and TV shows, there are usually a few different options for watching without cable or physical media like DVDs and VHS tapes. The most obvious are subscription streaming services, which offer unlimited viewing for a monthly fee. If their libraries include Pixar films, you'll find them below! Another option for watching Pixar films is to rent or buy digital copies. Our list includes the major online marketplaces that have Pixar films available. Finally, Pixar movies sometimes appear on live television and among the pay-per-view options you'll find through pay TV subscriptions. True to our website's raison d'etre, we've skipped cable and satellite options, but we have included some live TV streaming services that offer Disney-owned channels and pay-per-view options — between those two things, you're sure to find some Pixar films on these services.

Got all of that? Great! Let's kick off the list, shall we?

Disney+

How to Watch Pixar online - Disney+

Disney ownes Pixar, so it's no surprise to find Pixar films on Disney+. In fact, Disney+ will eventually be the “forever home” of every Pixar movie ever made and every Pixar movie yet to be made, making this the best answer to the question of where to stream Pixar movies online.

With that said, Disney+'s Pixar library is still coming together. As of this writing, Disney is waiting on some old contracts to expire before it reunites the Pixar family, so there will be a few missing titles here for a bit. This makes Disney+ the best bet for Pixar fans, but not the only on-demand option, at least for now.

Netflix (for now!)

How to watch Pixar online - Netflix

Netflix is the biggest competitor that Disney+ has. But, before Disney+ came around, Netflix partnered with Disney to stream some of the media giant's biggest films — including some Pixar flicks. As of this writing, there are still some Pixar titles on Netflix, making it worthy of inclusion on this list. Just be aware that Netflix will lose these titles as their contracts expire and Disney brings them home to Disney+.

Amazon Video (rent or buy)

How to Watch Pixar online - Amazon Video

Pixar films can't be found on Amazon Prime Video's on-demand menu right now, and — given Disney's investment in Disney+ — there's no reason to expect them to ever show up. But Amazon also has a video marketplace where fans can rent or buy digital copies of films, and you will find Pixar movies here. Buying a film will add it to your Amazon Video library and allow you to watch it from anywhere; renting will give you similar flexibility, but only for a short period of time (you have 30 days to start your film and can watch it, rewind it, and otherwise use it as much as you want for 48 hours beginning the moment that you start it).

Apple TV (rent or buy)

Watch Pixar movies online - Apple TV

Apple's streaming video on demand service won't have any Pixar films on offer, but its video rental and purchase marketplace will. Just as with Amazon, you can hop onto Apple's iTunes — sorry, Apple TV (Apple is killing off iTunes in favor of separate video and music apps and marketplaces) — and seek out your favorite Pixar movies to add to your collection temporarily or permanently.

Google Play (rent or buy)

Watch Pixar online - Google Play

Want to grab a Pixar movie for your digital collection or rent a Pixar movie to stream for family movie night? Then you could consider Google Play Movies & TV, the video marketplace within Google's Google Play Store. Buying a Pixar movie on Google Play will allow you to watch it through the Google Play Movies & TV app or Google Play app (depending on the platform) on any compatible device.

Can I watch Pixar movies and TV shows on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, or Chromecast?

It's great that you can stream Pixar movies, but the fate of your movie night hinges on whether you can stream Pixar movies on your favorite devices. You're probably not hoping to have the whole family gather around the computer screen, so that begs the question: How can you watch Pixar movies on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, or Chromecast? Happily, the answer is yes!

Let's start with the Disney+ app, since that's your main option for watching Pixar movies and TV shows. At launch, Disney+ will have apps available for Roku, Android TV, and Apple TV. It will work with Chromecast via its mobile or in-browser apps. Speaking of those, Disney+ is also an option for users of iOS, Android, or desktop and laptop computers (via an in-browser app). You'll even be able to watch Pixar movies and TV shows on Disney+ using your Xbox One or PlayStation 4. The one big omission here, of course, is Fire TV. At launch, Disney+ will not support Fire TV — but, of course, that could change in the future. Keep Cordcutting.com bookmarked and follow us on social media to stay posted on any expansions to Disney+'s platform support.

What about those other options for watching Pixar movies? Let's tackle them platform by platform.

Roku users, you can enjoy Pixar movies on Netflix, Apple TV, Amazon Video, and Google Play (in addition to the aforementioned Disney+).

Fire TV fans, you can get Netflix, Apple TV, and Amazon Video.

Android TV has apps for Netflix, Apple TV, Amazon Video, and Google Play (in addition to the aforementioned Disney+).

On mobile, you'll have lots of options for streaming Pixar movies and TV shows: Android and iOS users can get Netflix, Amazon Video, and Google Play (plus Disney+, of course). iOS users will also have access to Apple TV (as of this writing, it's unclear if Apple TV is coming to Android).

Disney Plus vs AT&T TV Now

As far as entertainment companies go, Disney and AT&T are two of the most well-known. Both fall at different ends of the spectrum, however when it comes to pricing and streaming capabilities. While Disney Plus is an on-demand service, AT&T TV Now is as close as you can get to cable without the restrictive contract. When it comes to pricing Disney Plus is more affordable, while AT&T TV Now is one of the more expensive services available. Both offer high-resolution streaming over a variety of devices. You can view your favorite programs from the comfort of your own home or while you are across the country on vacation.

Similarities

Both Disney Plus and AT&T TV Now offer subscribers the convenience of being completely portable. The only requirements for viewing is a device capable of supporting the app and an internet connection to stream it over. Another similarity has to do with the programming. While Disney Plus is strictly on-demand, it does offer you a wide selection of programs to choose from. If you choose the bundle package, you not only get all of the Disney content, you also get ESPN Plus and Hulu w/ads. Hulu offers many current television series with the only drawback being that you have to wait 24 hours to view the current episode. AT&T TV Now offers a good selection of channels as well as the option for premium movies and sports as well. Both also offer pay by the month plans.

Differences

Aside from Disney Plus being an on-demand service and AT&T TV Now offering live programming, the next huge difference is the price. While both offer pay by the month plans that allow you to start and stop service whenever you choose, Disney Plus also offers the option to pay by the year and receive two months free on their basic package. If you choose to pay for three years upfront and sign up prior to the November 12 launch date, you can save almost $80. Another difference is that Disney offers many of the classics kids programs as well as many family-friendly shows. AT&T TV Now offers all of the premium movie channels like HBO, Cinemax, and Showtime.

Costs & Monthly Plans

Disney Plus allows you the option of paying in advance or paying month to month. If you pay month-to month, you can start/stop your service whenever you like. The bundle plan that includes both ESPN Plus and Hulu w/ads will run you $12.99 a month.

AT&T TV Now has multiple package options designed to meet most subscribers' needs. The Plus plan starts out at $50 and provides close to 40 channels. Next, you have the Max plan for $70 a month. It includes both sports and movie channels. With the Entertainment plan, you are forced to give up the sports and movie channels even though you have to pay $93 a month. For $110 a month, you get back the sports and movie channels and the channel count increases to 85. The Xtra package costs $124 for 105 channels. For $135, you get 125 channels with the Ultimate package. Finally, for $86 a month, you can choose the Spanish package that includes 40 English channels and 50 Spanish ones.

Original Series

Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, and National Geographic are all holdings of Disney. Since Disney owns all of the companies it features as well as all the content produced by them, their catalog of original program is wide-ranging.

AT&T TV Now does not currently have any original series or movies.

Live TV

There are no live channels available with Disney Plus. The closest you will get is with the bundled offering and the Hulu w/ads that allows you to watch current episodes of certain series 24 hours after they originally air.

AT&T TV Now offers over 135 channels with their most expensive package. With their packages, you get a variety of live sports channels as well as many of the premium movie channels like Cinemax, HBO, and Showtime.

Disney Plus vs Philo

Disney Plus and Philo are both streaming services that are extremely affordable in terms of what they have to offer. Each one differs, however, in the type of programming they offer. Disney Plus is primarily an on-demand service and allows subscribers to view any of the titles in their extensive library, whenever and wherever they choose. Philo, on the other hand, offers live streaming television programs from many of the most popular cable channels. Neither offers local nor news channels. There are no contracts, hidden fees, or pieces of equipment to rent.

Similarities

Disney Plus and Philo are both affordable, offering plans that cost less than $20 a month. Both offer streaming capabilities over most devices including smartphones, tablets, and laptops. Both services are also fully portable which means that you can view your favorite programs no matter where you as long as you have access to the internet. Neither service requires a long-term contract and allows month to month payment options. If you choose to stay with the month to month payments, you can start or stop your service as many times as you want without incurring a penalty.

Differences

There are several notable differences between Disney Plus and Philo. The first major difference is that Disney Plus is an on-demand service that offers an extensive library of Disney favorites. Philo, on the other hand, offers live streaming of your favorite cable networks. Philo does not offer local news or a variety of sports channels either. Disney Plus does include ESPN Plus in its bundled package as a bonus. Another difference is that Philo cannot be accessed on all devices as of yet. It can be viewed on any device that allows you to download the app for either the iOS or Android systems.

Costs & Monthly Plans

Disney Plus offers a couple of different options when it comes to packages. If you choose the basic package for $6.99 a month, you have the option to start and stop your service whenever you want. You can also choose to pay $69.99 a year and get two months for free. You can choose the bundle for $12.99 and, in addition to Disney Plus, you will also receive Hulu w/ads and ESPN Plus. As a pre-launch special, you can choose to pay for three full years of the bundled service and save almost $80. Disney Plus is set to launch on November 12, 2019.

Philo offers two package options. For $20 a month, you get 58 channels plus unlimited DVR recordings. You can opt to get 12 more channels for an extra $4 a month.

Original Series

Disney offers content from each of the companies it owns like Pixar, Marvel, National Geographic, and Star Wars. Since it owns the companies that produce all of its content, all of the movies and series it offers are original.

Philo does not offer any original programming at this time.

Live TV

Disney Plus does not offer any live streaming channels. If you choose their bundle, however, you get Hulu w/ads which allow you to watch recent episodes of your favorite television series 24 hours after their original air date.

Philo offers live streaming of many of the major networks and cable channels. It doesn't, however, offer any local channels. Sports channels are on the slim side but there are a few to be found.

Disney Plus vs PlayStation Vue

Disney Plus and PlayStation Vue are both in line to be solid competitors with other streaming services with each having their own distinct advantages. Disney Plus is set to launch in November and will provide all of your Disney favorites. PlayStation Vue has been rated the best in its category for two years straight by the American Customer Satisfaction Index Survey. Both services offer viewing availability on almost any device and from any location with a solid internet connection. Neither service requires any type of equipment. You can log in on your gaming device, through an app or through the website on your laptop, desktop, or smart TV.

Similarities

One of the main similarities has to do with each system's portability. All you need in order to view your programs is a solid internet connection. You can watch on a variety of devices ranging from smartphones to smart TVs. Both have a wide range of content, including on-demand program options. While Disney Plus offers an extensive library of on-demand movies and programs, PlayStation Vue allows you to record thousands of hours on their DVR so that you can watch your content any time you wish. Both also offer ESPN programming as well, but in order to have it included in Disney's package, you will have to choose their bundle option.

Differences

There are several differences worth noting between Disney Plus and PlayStation Vue. First, is the price. Disney Plus' most expensive option is still almost three times cheaper than that offered by PlayStation Vue. Another difference has to do with the type of streaming that is offered. Disney Plus only offers on-demand options, while PlayStation Vue offers live programming with the option for on-demand as well as their DVR and cloud storage. Disney Plus is also more of a family-oriented platform. Although it offers adult content too, Disney's name alone suggests that it will be including many of the family favorites that the company is known for.

Costs & Monthly Plans

With Disney Plus, you have two options. Their basic offering costs $7 a month or $70 a year. They also offer a bundled plan for $12.99 a month. The bundled plan includes Disney Plus, ESPN Plus and Hulu w/ads. As a pre-launch deal, they are offering a discounted rate that will save new subscribers almost $80. In order to receive the discount, you must pay for three years when you sign up. With the month to month plan, you can start and stop your service as desired.

PlayStation Vue has four plans to choose from. The Access costs $49.99 a month. Next is the Core for $54.99 a month (the most popular). The Elite is the next to the highest and costs $64.9 a month. The most expensive plan is the Ultra for $84.99 a month. You can add sports, premium movies and a Spanish package for an additional fee each month.

Original Series

Disney owns all of the companies they feature. This means that the content available from each one is an original program. Pixar, National Geographic, Marvel, and Star Wars all have programs that appear in addition to Disney's content.

There is no original content on PlayStation Vue at this time.

Live TV

Disney Plus does not include any live TV channels as part of their package.

Disney Plus vs Sling TV

Streaming services are quickly becoming popular with people who like to be able to watch their favorite shows any time of the day and wherever they may be at the time. Disney Plus and Sling TV offer subscribers the best of both worlds. Disney Plus offers on-demand content that includes an enormous library full of Disney's most beloved movies and television series. Sling TV offers a large selection of local, cable, and sports channels that can be streamed from almost any location that offers a strong Wi-fi or internet connection. Both offer multiple packages at low to medium pricing without the restrictions associated with long-term contracts. You can stop, start or change your package at any time without a harsh penalty or any hidden fees.

Both Disney Plus and Sling TV offer the convenience of being mobile. As long as you have a way to connect to the internet, you can stream your on-demand content from Disney or your live programs from Sling. At this time, both companies are offering discounted rates when new subscribers sign up.

Differences

The most substantial difference between the two streaming services involves on-demand vs live streaming. While Disney Plus is strictly on-demand, Sling TV provides live streaming access to both local and cable channels. Another difference is the pricing. While both offer similarly priced packages, you also have an option to combine Sling TV's smaller packages into one larger one that is over double the cost of Disney's most expensive plan. Sling also offers actual sports packages for most types of sports events, like football, baseball, and hockey. When it comes to paying for the services, both offer month-to-month options but Disney encourages subscribers to pay by the year. If they do pay for a full one to three years in advance, they will receive a discounted price. Disney Plus is set to launch on November 12, 2019. Sling also offers DVR options as well.

Costs & Monthly Plans

Disney Plus plans are some of the most affordable for what you get in each package. The basic plan starts at $6.99 if you choose to pay by the month. If a new subscriber wants the best discount, Disney is encouraging them to sign up prior to the launch date and pay for three years in full. If they choose this option, they can save as much as $80.

The Sling TV Orange and Blue plans are $25 a month. If you decide you want the combo plan that includes channels from both the Orange and Blue plans, you can get it for $40 a month. You can also choose to add either (or both) premium sports and movie channels.

Original Series

In terms of original content, Disney Plus wins hands down. All of the content included in their library is from companies that are owned or have been acquired by Disney including Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic.

Sling TV does not offer any type of original content at this particular time.

Live TV

While Disney Plus does not offer live TV streaming, you can watch your favorite series episodes the day after they air if you have the bundled plan and go to Hulu w/ads.

Sling TV offers a large selection of channels through their combination plan that includes both the Orange and Blue packages. You can also choose live sports and movie channels to go along with your local networks and cable channels.

Summary: Disney Plus vs Sling TV

If you have a family and enjoy all of the Disney standards, then Disney Plus is your best choice. It's fully portable and can be viewed anywhere. You have the option to pay in advance as well as start or stop your service whenever you need to.

Sling TV is a great choice if you want the convenience of a mobile streaming service combined with all of your favorite local and cable channels. It's also the best choice if you have a sports fan in the family who likes to watch their team whenever, wherever they play.

How to Watch The Mandalorian

Star Wars is one of the most popular media franchises of all time. Every time a new Star Wars film or TV show is slated to come out, fans get fired up — and the latest Star Wars show, The Mandalorian, is no exception. Fans can't wait to see the first live action Star Wars TV series and to witness the story of the mysterious figure in Mandalorian armor — the same armor made famous by fan favorite Boba Fett in the original Star Wars film trilogy. But The Mandalorian won't be on Netflix, nor will it be available on cable — not even on Disney Channel or ABC, both networks owned by Lucasfilm parent company Disney. So how can you watch The Mandalorian online? You may already know, but just in case, you'd better read on.

How to watch The Mandalorian online

This is normally the part of the “How to Watch” page where we list all of the different ways to watch the thing in question, but — as you may already be aware — we're in for a very short list today. Star Wars is owned by Disney, and Disney is preparing to launch a new streaming service that will challenge Netflix for streaming supremacy. It's on that service, and that service alone, that you will find The Mandalorian. Alright, that's enough prologue: Let's get on with our “list.”

Disney+

Yep, here it is! Disney's new streaming service, Disney+, is your destination for the newest Star Wars story. If you want to stream The Mandalorian, then you'll have to sign up for Disney+. You'll get a whole lot more Star Wars content in addition to The Mandalorian, by the way: Disney+ is also home to almost every Star Wars film and TV show already in existence. Disney plans to bring in the few outliers as soon as some old streaming content contracts expire, making Disney+ the exclusive home to a galaxy far, far away. Going forward, Disney+ is your go-to source for all things Star Wars, including The Mandalorian.

Can I watch The Mandalorian on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, or Chromecast?

So, you're ready to watch The Mandalorian. You've signed up for Disney+. You've cleared your schedule for the evening. You're ready to go, except for one detail: What are you watching The Mandalorian on?

With Disney+, you'll have some options. Disney+ will launch with support for a bunch of major streaming platforms. Specifically, we're talking here about Roku, Android TV, Apple TV, and (via mobile or desktop) Chromecast.

Not supported is one of the most popular streaming platforms out there: Amazon's Fire TV. Users of Fire TV have been left out of the Disney+ launch festivities, we're afraid, though it wouldn't be all that surprising to see Disney+ add support for that popular platform in the weeks and months following Disney+'s big launch.

Mobile users, you can enjoy Disney+ apps for iOS and Android devices.

Video game systems are supported, too: You can watch The Mandalorian on Xbox One or PlayStation 4, thanks to the Disney+ apps that will be available for both at the time of Disney+'s launch.

Finally, you can always watch The Mandalorian online on your computer: Disney+ will have an in-browser app that you can use.

When is the The Mandalorian release date?

When will you first be able to watch The Mandalorian online? The good news for Star Wars fans is that they won't have to wait long. Disney+ subscribers will be able to start streaming The Mandalorian the moment that Disney+ goes live: The first episode of the much-anticipated Star Wars show will drop on November 12, 2019, which is the same day that Disney+ itself will become available.

Unlike Netflix, Disney+ will not drop entire episodes of its series at once. While the first episode of The Mandalorian will be ready to go on day one, fans will have to wait until the following week for the second episode, another week for the third, and so on.

What will The Mandalorian be about?

The Mandalorian is a Star Wars series, but what else do we know about it?

For one thing, we know that it stars Pedro Pascal as the titular Mandalorian. In Star Wars lore, Mandalorians are from the planet Mandalore (which makes sense, right?). They're recognizable thanks to their iconic armor, which fans will remember Boba Fett sporting in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi; Jango Fett wore a set of it in the prequel movies, too, and Mandalorians have figured into spin-off stories like Star Wars: Rebels. So what's the deal with these Mandalorians? Star Wars canon has established that the Mandalorians are a warlike people who tend to get work as mercenaries and bounty hunters. From what we know about the new show, Pascal's Mandalorian character is no exception: The Mandalorian's protagonist will reportedly be a bounty hunter of questionable morals. Whether that means a gritty anti-hero or a Han Solo-style moral arc remains to be seen!

The Mandalorian will fit into the Star Wars timeline between Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, but closer to the former than the latter. The story will reportedly take place five years after the fall of the Empire as depicted in Return of the Jedi, and a good 25 years before the events of The Force Awakens.

Pedro Pascal isn't the only star with a role in the new series. Other big names confirmed for the series include Gina Carano, Nick Nolte, Carl Weathers, and Taika Waititi.

That's pretty much all we've got on the series so far — but we'll learn a whole lot more on November 12, when Disney+ and The Mandalorian finally arrive!
