When it comes to cord cutting for me, a highly important feature is a DVR and the ability to fast forward through commercials. I would love to see all stories about cord cutting to start mentioning this. I would never have a solution that forces me to sit through 5 minutes of commercials.
We just buy the shows via iTunes so we can watch them whenever we want without those annoying commercials. It cost less in the long run than paying a fee for other shows we don’t watch.
If HGTV had an app like HBO Now where we could just pay a reasonable monthly fee without cable, we might be interested – provided there’s no pesky ads..
I can’t see how AppleTV+ is a model to choose when you add up the a la carte shows you want to watch each month. IPTV also runs the issue of buffering limitations…even with fibre connections. Cutting the cord is great…if you save money. If it’s less than $10/mo then look at what else you’re giving (PVR) up just to cut cable.
