If you're thinking about cutting the cord, take a look at what our experts have to say about Amazon Prime Video and some possible Amazon Prime Video alternatives.

Amazon Prime Video is included as part of an Amazon Prime membership along with a variety of other benefits as well. And for that reason, Amazon Prime Video might just be your best bet for cutting the cord. Amazon is a behemoth when it comes to online retail and offering popular services everyone seems to love. And, Amazon continues to add more features and benefits to its Prime membership that make it even more attractive. But is Amazon Prime Video the right streaming service for you? Here are some Amazon Prime Video alternatives to help you decide.

1. Hulu

Hulu was founded by Disney and launched in 2008 and unlike Netflix has always been a streaming service. Hulu has a 30-day free trial or a 7-day free trial depending on the plan you choose. Amazon Prime also offers a 30-day free trial. Additionally, neither brand has any contract requirements or any hidden fees.

With Hulu, you can stream between one and two devices, unless you upgrade to their Unlimited Screens add-on feature for an extra monthly fee. And with Amazon Prime Video, you can stream up to three devices simultaneously. Additionally, both Hulu and Amazon Prime Video offer live TV streaming, mobile playback, and original content programming.

As far as affordability goes, Hulu has a bare-bones plan that is only $5.99/mo. and their upper-tier plan Hulu + Live TV is $44.99/mo. An Amazon Prime membership is $119 a year, which is $12.99/mo. and you can only get Amazon Prime Video by buying an Amazon Prime membership. Therefore, when comparing the two, the Hulu base plan is a bit cheaper, but the Amazon Prime Video option is not that much more for what you get. However, if you opt for the Hulu + Live TV option, that one is a bit higher than the Amazon plan.

2. Disney Plus

Disney Plus is going to be a fantastic streaming service when it launches on November 12, 2019. And Disney has announced that it is also going to be offering a triple bundle that will include Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN+ for an extremely low price of only $12.99 a month, which is an amazing value. Disney Plus isn't offering a free trial as of right now, but, who knows, once they launch, that could change. Amazon, however, does offer a 30-day free trial when you sign up for their Amazon Prime membership. The Prime membership is the only way to access their Amazon Prime Video streaming service.

With Disney Plus, you will be able to stream up to four devices at the same time. And with Amazon Prime Video, you can stream up to three devices at once. Additionally, both Disney Plus and Amazon Prime Video offer mobile playback and original content programming. However, only Amazon Prime Video comes with live TV streaming, Disney Plus does not.

The Disney Plus streaming service is $6.99 per month, which is cheaper than most other monthly streaming services. However, the Amazon Prime membership is not much more. The Prime membership is $119 per year or $12.99 per month, but you get all the other benefits of the Prime membership along with the video streaming service. Once the Disney triple bundle becomes available, both services will be equal in price.

3. Netflix

Netflix is the oldest streaming service on the market, and they can still easily compete with any of the others out there. Netflix and Amazon Prime Video both offer a 30-day free trial and neither service requires you to sign a contract. And unlike cable, you won't find any hidden fees or fine print with these brands either.

With Netflix, you can stream between one and four devices at the same time depending on your plan. And with Amazon Prime Video, you can stream up to three devices at the same time. Additionally, both Netflix and Amazon Prime Video offer original content programming and mobile playback. However, only Amazon Prime Video comes with live TV streaming, Netflix does not.

Netflix has several subscription plans that range from $8.99 per month to $15.99 per month for their premium plan. Amazon Prime Video is a benefit of the Amazon Prime membership. That means you can only get Amazon Prime Video if you pay $119 per year or $12.99 per month for the Prime membership. However, you also get all the other benefits that come with a Prime membership as well. But, as far as the price goes, both brands are comparable.
