Sling TV celebrated its second birthday today (gee, they grow up so fast) and, naturally, they decided that now was a good time to do a little self-promotion. With that in mind, they’re letting everyone watch Sling TV for free this weekend, with no credit card required.
The promotion begins at 9 AM Eastern on this Saturday, the 11th, and runs through Sunday (it ends at 3 AM Monday, to be exact). It’s only for Sling Orange (click here to view our Sling TV channel list and see the difference between Sling Orange, Sling Blue, and Sling Orange + Blue). But, unlike Sling TV’s usual week-long free trial, it doesn’t require you to hand over your credit card information.
You’ll still have to make an account (so Sling TV will have your email address), but there’s no other catch. You can sign up at https://www.sling.com/watchfree. Or, of course, you can also opt to get a whole week of any of Sling TV’s packages for free by turning to their regular free trial instead (you’ll need to give them your payment information for that one, though).
This wasn’t Sling TV’s only birthday announcement. In a Periscope broadcast, Sling TV CEO Roger Lynch announced that Sling TV would do a similar free promotion for HBO and Starz later this month, and that the service’s Cloud DVR service – in beta right now on Roku – would be expanding to other platforms soon.
