8.4 / 10  Review Rating

Sling TV was the first streaming service to give cord cutters the thing they miss most about cable: Live network television channels. Sling TV made it possible to watch channels like ESPN, FX, HGTV, and TBS again — and Sling TV made it cheap, too. By slimming down the fat cable bundle to a leaner “skinny bundle,” Sling TV was able to keep prices low and get rid of those awful long-term contracts.

Sling Orange + Blue Channels
Sling Orange + Blue Channels

Sling TV isn't the only skinny bundle these days, but it's still unique. The cool thing about Sling TV is that it gives you a lot of freedom to build your own bundle. We loved that in our Sling TV review, but we also realize that it can get confusing. To help you keep track of which channels you can get with Sling TV — and which base bundles or add-on bundles you can get them in — we created this channel list.

Below, we'll show you which channels are in Sling's base bundles (Sling Orange and Sling Blue). You can get either of those bundles (or both, for a discount) and then add as many of Sling TV's “Extras” as you'd like to create a custom bundle.

  1. Avatar Hilda Paschal-Taylor says:

It’s nice to have an array of channels but you don’t have African American networks like TV ONE, OWN, & BET. African Americans watch television too!

    1. Avatar Aaron says:

Hmm. I’m not African American but wow, that’s a big segment of the market they’re missing!

      1. Avatar louigi says:

It’s available elsewhere. This is a skinny package. If you want a full line up, you need cable or satellite!

        1. Avatar Bob says:

Yeah, a full line up of garbage and re-runs.

    2. Avatar Debra Williams says:

I’m looking to leave cable too but I have to have OWN.

      1. Avatar Constance says:

        I love OWN.

      2. Avatar Diane says:

Philo has OWN and many other good channels. $20.00 a month!

        1. Avatar Meyekuhl says:

          No freakin way
          OMG YESSSSS
          Thank GOD

    3. Avatar Tara says:

They do have BET, but unfortunately not TV One or Own. 🙁

    4. Avatar audry says:

agreed. im thinking about dropping sling because it’s only 1 african american channel

  2. Avatar Greg says:

Bring back H2… and get rid of Vice… I prepaid for 3 months and if H2 isn’t back I’m not either…

    1. Avatar Keith says:

H2 became Viceland. That was a decision by A&E Networks… not Sling.

    2. Avatar Anonymous says:

      A BIG agree on that!

  3. Avatar Pautl says:

I wish we could get TLC.

    1. Avatar Pat says:

      Me too.

    2. Avatar Morena says:

No TLC is the ONLY reason why I wouldn’t get Sling TV… unfortunately. ☹️

    3. Avatar Sandra says:

I have TLC on sling blue

  4. Avatar Pautl says:

How do we get 2 TVs on Sling in the same house?

    1. Avatar Peter says:

Plex. But you have to watch the same shows on both TVs.

    2. Avatar teebee says:

      Chromecast on each TV.

  5. Avatar Floyd says:

Yes for ASPiRE TV, Centric TV and especially TV One for the African American audience. I am not including BET (poor representation)!

  6. Avatar Bill McLain says:

When you add MSNBC, let me know.

  7. Avatar Liz says:

Any chance you’ll add MSNBC, Bravo and the Golf Channel?

  8. Avatar Liz says:

Once African American channels are added I would highly consider purchasing. ASPiRE TV, Centric TV, TV One and BounceTV.

  9. Avatar Sue says:

What I want to know is how often the programming changes. For example on the History Channel it says there are 7 episodes of Pickers. Is that all you can get? Also a lot of the time there is paid programming on there.

  10. Avatar Angela Daniels says:

I would purchase if there was AT LEAST ONE channel that has African American Programming. I would even do the $5 extra if they put together a package like for Latin channels.

  11. Avatar Martin Gray says:

Has a lot of channels that I don’t watch but does not have the channels that I do watch.

  12. Avatar Corey Lewis says:

My wife loves to watch BET (Bobby Jones) on Sunday mornings if we can’t make church, but there isn’t BET in any of the packages or add ons. I had to cancel and get another subscription that offered BET. Have to accommodate my wife in this cutting the cord movement also. If Sling ever decides add BET, and some other diverse channels, we’ll be back.

    1. Avatar Jwoww says:

Sling does have BET. Me and my Fiance watch it every Sunday.

  13. Avatar KP says:

The good thing is that pricing should remain locked, because nothing about the service should cause it to change in the future. I am highly disappointed that they’re not offering TV One, Bet, etc… Those should have been offered from the beginning, and I hope they don’t add them later with inflated prices.

  14. Avatar KP says:

I’m sort of bewildered that theres not one black TV network. Hopefully you’ll have the black network programming up shortly. We are mainstream, I’m really not looking at this in a good light.

    1. Avatar Ernest Doucette says:

A lot of regular TV is Black Programming, almost all the sitcoms are black now!

    2. Avatar louigi says:

They must be racist, it’s the only explanation. Couldn’t be that those channels don’t bring in much viewership?

  15. Avatar Mike Agner says:

Untrue – you have BET on the beta Multi Stream. It would be nice to have these in alpha order to make finding a specific network lots easier.

  16. Avatar Antonio Calvo says:

Too bad you don’t offer MSNBC or other news channels.

    1. Avatar says:

You’re in luck: Sling added MSNBC yesterday. See:

  17. Avatar John DePasquale says:

No Fox Business Channel or CNBC Market Watch. I need the business channels to keep up to date with the financial markets on a daily basis. Guess I’ll have to stay with crappy Dish.

  18. Avatar Todd Ingerson says:

Would love to see Fox News added. Otherwise not bad. Been with Sling for about five months now.

    1. Avatar Debbie Vaughan says:

I would also like to see Fox News Channel added! We are not all CNN fans!

  19. Avatar Tim McCulloch says:

If you don’t mind spending just a little more, try SFN TV Now by Southern Fibernet…

They have a 70 channel package for $36…

    At least check them out…

  20. Avatar John Winowich says:

What about the Big Ten Network. Would be interested if that were added.

  21. Avatar Steve says:

Is this really better and cheaper than the cable company and other options? The free stuff is c***. After you buy, install and waste time figuring out Roku then to get what you really want, more money. I hope so in the long run.

  22. Avatar Ron says:

What channels does the free trial include, Blue + Orange?

  23. Avatar John Helms says:

Sling and other similar services look no different than standard cable services and cost about the same. Not a solution for me and won’t be until I can pick the channels I am interested in and only those channels.

  24. Avatar Russell Leslie says:

You should start an all-black network based on Muslim beliefs so that all the blacks that want their special TV can have it and the whites won’t have to pay for any of those channels. Will the black people of this country quit bitching about every damn thing. Life just ain’t fair for no body. You don’t see the whites or Jews or Vietnamese who totally got screwed by this government, run out and burn down their own neighborhood when a man of their race runs from police with a gun then gets shot.

    1. Avatar MMA says:

Your last comment has absolutely nothing to do with Sling TV but I’ll bite. If it started happening to an unarmed person of YOUR race over and over maybe you would understand…

      1. Avatar louigi says:

He’s correct. Why should white people have to pay for black TV? It’s just like Obozo care when men have to pay coverage that only women need.

  25. Avatar Reese says:

Need TLC. Will pay xtra for it.

  26. Avatar Carol says:

Can Sling please include Hallmark Channel? It’s crucial they do.

  27. Avatar Carolyn says:

When are you going to get OWN NETWORK? Have Sling & very happy. When I saw Sling, I knew it was grace & mercy. Keep up the good BLESSING!!!!!!

  28. Avatar Catrenna says:

If you had OWN, then you would of had me sold.

    1. Avatar Mary McFarland says:

  29. Avatar Sibnick says:

Can we get TLC and Pop?

    1. Avatar Pat says:

I thought TLC was in the blue package extra I ordered but it’s not. It would be great to include it.

  30. Avatar Diane Link says:

One of my favorite is Hallmark… Would even pay extra for it.

  31. Avatar David Zukauskas says:

Will Velocity TV and Discovery TV be available soon and can I get the network channels for an extra charge?

  32. Avatar Ed DEBord says:

When will you get Fox Business live???

  33. Avatar Sally says:

How can I speak with you or someone appropriate about the costs of the various extra add-ons?

  34. Avatar BFS says:

Great idea, but I’m an avid watcher of TLC. No TLC… no me. ?

  35. Avatar Dave Cary says:

I’d like to see you add all those FREE over the air channels, including local news.

  36. Avatar B Reese says:

You can get the Hallmark channel called Feeln that has their movies for $35.99 a year. If you subscribe to Hallmark eCards you get a discount to sign up for Feeln. You may even get 1 month free.

  37. Avatar Farah says:

I called before but i still don’t understand how Roku works. I have a Visio Smart TV and I have a Samsung Smart TV. What Roku works for Arabic channels?

  38. Avatar Ken says:

The cable companies are fighting back. Comcast just modified its terms to limit internet bandwidth.

  39. Avatar Debbie says:

Add the Own Network, and I’m sure would gain more business.

  40. Avatar James says:

Need to have a pick your channels package. Too many in the group packages that would not be watched making it not worth the money.

  41. Avatar Cheryl says:

Boy, I love Sling TV. Boy, having to pay a lot of money for cable and then getting introduced to Sling TV was a blessing. There are many channels to enjoy!!!

  42. Avatar Yvonne says:

Please add OWN, TV One and Centric.

  43. Avatar Martha says:

I’m thinking about trying Sling TV. I hope it will be worth it.

    1. Avatar Pat says:

Cheaper than Dish satellite and doesn’t have the garbage extras in it like Dish. Hope Sling keeps costs down.

  44. Avatar Doris says:

Are u going to get Animal Planet soon?

  45. Avatar Tara White says:

Once African American channels are added my family and I would highly consider purchasing. ASPiRE TV, Centric TV, TV One and BounceTV. Email me when these channels have been added to the lineup in one of the 3 packages not as add ons. Sling seems very racists right now!

    1. Avatar Johnny says:

Are you EFFING kidding me? This is the problem with your culture, EVERYTHING is racist, ESPECIALLY when it is actually NOT!

    2. Avatar louigi says:

Did you see the racist POTUS pardon a WHITE turkey? Fool!

  46. Avatar Layla says:

PLEASE GET TLC!!! I need to watch 90 Day Fiance.

  47. Avatar Daisy says:

    What’s up with Telemundo?

  48. Avatar Fred Burkett says:

So far I like everything about Sling, especially the user friendly account management and the effectiveness of its operation through Roku. I recently added a Roku Express to my account. I had already subscribed to Sling through a Roku Stick but eventually the stick was no longer reliable. So I installed the Roku Express. When I selected to watch Sling on the TV, bingo! Sling had already installed for use. I WOULD PAY $5 TO $10 MORE PER MONTH FOR BIG 10 NETWORK. SO WOULD MANY POTENTIAL SUBSCRIBERS.

  49. Avatar Karan says:

Animal Planet is the one I want most and I do not see it. Also does this include all on my local stations?

  50. Avatar Wayne says:

Can I get CBS, NBC, and ABC local programming on Sling TV where I live in San Diego? My Zip Code is 92081.

    1. Avatar Bill Paul says:

Comcast can rip you off for that. $25 for basic, $7 for broadcast fee, $10 for a cable box and then taxes and fees. Would be nice if Sling could include it say for $5 or $10.

  51. Avatar Laurie says:

Would love to have Velocity and Discovery channels on here. Is that in the works at all?

  52. Avatar Angie says:

I am thinking about switching to Sling but I need TLC. Please add this channel and then I will subscribe and do away with my cable.

  53. Avatar Mark Williams says:

Would like to see Fox News, Fox Business, and Big Ten Network.

  54. Avatar Saint John says:

Really wanting to try out Sling TV but can’t without the Velocity channel!

How can you say, “Take back TV”, When you are not including everyone as your audience? I mean: You have BET, but BET is not a popular network for me. Where are the other channels such as OWN, TV1, or Centric? I want to take back TV, too. But give me a reason to choose, Sling TV.

    Need Velocity channel…

  57. Avatar Lois Spencer says:

Is there a way to get Cook HD or channel #163, Food HD, or #162 and DYHD or #161? I also really enjoy all of Cook’s Country on KLRU, and the Saturday afternoon food show on KLRU, like the Italian and Asian cooking. Please let me know how to get these? I also enjoy “Hot Bench” a 3 judge panel for court debates. I do not know which channel or network this is on.

    Thank you in advance,
    Lois Spencer

Want to leave the big cable company. Please include the African American channels as well… not as an added cost… to be fair. Thanks.

    1. Avatar Joy says:

Sharon, I used to have a Dish satellite (who owns Sling) and it was the same thing… none of the African American channels were included in the basic package (not even BET, although MTV and VH1 were). One had to move to a higher package to get the AA channels. So, I’m not surprised at all to hear that Sling has no AA channels. If Sling does eventually add AA channels, it will most likely be at a higher cost, like how it was with Dish. But do look around, there are other streaming services that offer these channels. I’ve cut the cord and currently have BET, Centric, and OWN through my new provider. Good luck!

  60. Avatar Doris Floyd says:

Really wish you would get TLC.

  61. Avatar Lee Prather says:

Do y’all carry Discovery and Velocity Channel?

  62. Avatar LuJuan McMullen says:

Think you’ll ever include the CW channel? This is one of my favorite channels.

  63. Avatar Johnny Mercy says:

Without Fox News and Fox Business Network, forget about it. I wonder if exclusion is political? If it is a Liberal/Left owned company then they hate Fox… or Fox is selfish in their sharing outside of cable networks.

  64. Avatar Linda Johnson says:

Why not FOX News? I may have to cancel.

  65. Avatar Gramma says:

Holy cow, the family I daycare for just dumped Dish and got Sling and it’s HORRID. No TV guide to help you choose. Have to constantly put in pin. When all the kids are home and homework done, and tablets and computer are allowed… constant constant glitches. The constant glitches make you crazy. I guess they are saving money… but so far only ONE local channel… it’s really not all that great.

  66. Avatar Shirley Corum says:

Doesn’t have channel 9. Want to change packages.

  67. Avatar Eli Johnson says:

We watch a lot of local channel networks, ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, and FOX. Any chance of adding these in the future?

  68. Avatar Gaye Wallace says:

We tried Sling and I really liked the selection of programs that we had, but the problem was it kept buffering when we tried to tune in to the shows we wanted to watch. It would either keep buffering or if it finally connected, the program would play for a bit and then stop and when we tried to go back to it, we couldn’t get it to come back. So we dropped Sling. Hopefully, that will improve and we can go back to them, because we really liked the package that we had. In fact, we had everything that we had on cable for about half the cost. I really hope to be able to got back to Sling.

  69. Avatar Gaye Wallace says:

Forgot to mention that my husband really liked the Velocity channel. That was one of his favorite cable channels. It would be nice if it were added to the lineup. Also, can’t you do something about getting a guide? It is an awful lot of trouble to have to sift through everything in order to find the program you want to watch. It takes way too long to do that. Hope you will get the bugs worked out soon so we can come back to Sling. Don’t know what caused the problems with getting the shows to play, but it was frustrating.

  70. Avatar Ana Adler says:

Well, I’ve tried it but I am going back to Spectrum internet/TV package. One, I used the Sling app with my Amazon Fire Stick but found the TV guide was cumbersome. Drilling down several screens to see what was on or what was scheduled later was not fun. Two, the buffering was annoying. Three, it doesn’t include my PBS stations which I now realize I watch more frequently than I thought. Given the outrageous price my provider would charge for internet only, it wasn’t that huge of a savings after all. It’s slightly disappointing.

  71. Avatar Terina V Stevens says:

Do you have any plans to add Animal Planet to your lineup?

  72. Avatar LD says:

Will you be adding TV One soon?

  73. Avatar Cheryl stone says:

I am wanting Animal Planet. Do you have it?

  74. Avatar Gayle says:

Would love to switch to Sling TV, but without ID, TLC, it appears it is impossible.

  75. Avatar James says:

    What happened to ACC Network?

  76. Avatar Pam I. says:

Where is TCM? I would pay a little more for the access of the best acting ever.

  77. Avatar Anon says:

    No TLC, no luck.

  78. Avatar Jen says:

I need ID and TLC… I would even pay extra for those channels. When my friends ask about Sling, I tell them not to bother changing because they are missing so many great channels… TLC, ID, OWN, etc.

  79. Avatar Bill Rauscher says:

    Please get TLC and OWN.

  80. Avatar Tom says:

Why can’t you separate the channels, like only English speaking packages. Like NO SPORTS packages? Because my family will never speak Spanish. And with baseball going on strike years ago… we don’t watch it, now that football is kneeling we will not watch it any longer. Or any rich and spoiled sports anymore. Give me just a straight English speaking only, no sports package.

  81. Avatar Michael Owens says:

I would like to see METV on Sling TV so I can get rid of cable.

    1. Avatar Lamar says:

Yeah, MeTV, ION and OWN, once those channels get added cord cutting to Sling TV would be the best thing ever.

  82. Avatar Cheryl says:

So happy I dropped the big cable company and switched to Roku and Sling! I purchased an antenna for local channels. I am saving over $100.00 a month! The only thing missing is TLC. I also feel like it is not worth an extra $5.00 at month for the very few channels you get with the Heartland package even though my husband really enjoys the Outdoor channel. It would be nice if Sling would just combine that package with another (like the Lifestyle package) or provide those channels for free since it is so small. My favorite part about Sling is being able to add and drop packages easily. We will drop the sports package after football but I will add the Hallmark Channel for Christmas movies! It is great! NO MORE PAYING THE CASH COW!

  83. Avatar Anne Burnett says:

I would love to see Daystar, TBN, and OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) in your lineup.

  84. Avatar louigi says:

If they had the Animal channel I’d sign up in a heartbeat. I don’t know anyone that doesn’t watch that channel?!

  85. Avatar Emley Almasri says:

    TLC, please.

  86. Avatar Angela Wilson says:

Will you be adding TLC anytime soon?

  87. Avatar Chantell says:

I need and gotta have TLC.

  88. Avatar BJ says:

Will you add Discovery Channel and Velocity anytime soon?

  89. Avatar Rosilyn says:

    When will you have TLC?

  90. Avatar Lynn says:

What about Oxygen? Snapped is one of my favorites! I’m already to switch but I need to know about Oxygen first! CW?

  91. Avatar Fenicia says:

    Please get TLC and OWN.

    1. Avatar says:

Did you know that you can watch both of them via DIRECTV NOW, Philo, or PlayStation Vue?

  92. Avatar Harish Rane says:

we need Hindi news channel Aaj tak, ABP news and Zee news. Hindi news extra does not have zee news channel but have Aaj tak. Let me know how can i get those channels.

  93. Avatar Jill says:

I cut the cord about 8 months ago. Best thing I ever done.. What would make it a perfect deal is if you would get ION.. just saying:)

  94. Avatar Cindy says:

Do you have ION channel? And USA?
