It's Wednesday again! Media Melanie from Yellowjackets Hive presented by CordCutting.com recommends another Watch THIS Wednesday pick. This week, it's “The OA” on Netflix. Here's what she said about the TV series:

“I’ll put this warning up front: ‘The OA' was canceled after Season 2, well before its time. If you can’t get over the unfinished series stigma, I get it. For me, it’s still worth the mind-bending watch. Even if it’s highly unlikely, I will persist in manifesting a third season. Netflix did offer a concluding chapter in the form of a movie, but Batmanglij and Marling passed, mostly due to their commitment to a five-season plan.

Phyllis Smith (‘The Office') plays one of Prairie’s friends and might be one of my favorite supporting cast members. I also enjoyed Scott Wilson (‘The Walking Dead') who plays Prairie's adoptive father. The younger cast as a whole was perfect. Note: Sharon Van Etten of the ‘Yellowjackets‘ soundtrack plays Rachel! Buzz buzz buzz!

The conceptualization of near-death experiences and how they may impact a person and their existence as a whole is fascinating to me. In fact, this is another older show I’ve watched for the first time this year and become completely obsessed with. ‘Dark‘ is the other. I appreciate how they both challenge conventional notions of time, death, dimensional exploration, and more. They make me think and most definitely not scroll, which is a good thing.”
