TV lovers have something to get excited about this month as the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences presents The Emmys — the only awards show focusing solely on prime-time television. Fans have been waiting for the results of the awards since last July when the nominees were announced. However, the original September date of the event was postponed due to the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes, pushing the date back to join the annual film and TV awards season that usually runs from January to the spring.
The 75th Emmys have a new date in 2024, giving fans the opportunity to see all their favorite faces on television in one place and cheer on their favorite shows. This will surely be a big event that cord-cutters don’t want to miss, so here are all the ways you can watch the Emmys with or without a cable subscription.
What Channel Are the Emmys On? What Time Do the Emmys Start?
The Emmys are usually held in mid-September, before the official start of the fall television season, but the 2023 event was postponed due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes that halted the industry for most of the past year. Following the end of the disputes, the Emmys are finally free to go ahead this January. The event will be hosted by “Black-ish” star, Anthony Anderson, and will take place at the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles on Jan. 15 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
In terms of nominees, “Succession” leads the pack with an impressive 27 nominations. “The Last of Us,” “The White Lotus,” and “Ted Lasso” each received over 20 nominations as well. The live footage will be broadcast on FOX and through the FOX website and app. E! Entertainment will be covering the red carpet before and after the event. Unlike other awards shows this season, the Emmys doesn’t have a specific streaming partner, but there are still plenty of ways to access the footage through your favorite streaming services.
Here are all the details you need to know about the upcoming event:

How to Watch the 2024 Emmys Online Without Cable
If you don’t have a cable subscription that will allow you to watch the Emmys live on FOX, there are still plenty of ways to catch all the excitement. The ceremony will also stream live on the FOX website and app, and through skinny bundle streaming services that include FOX as a channel option. FOX can also often be accessed for free over-the-air with an HD antenna.
