Final Thoughts About Discovery Plus
Just because the streaming service market is starting to become saturated with options does not mean that you shouldn’t continue to seek out services that are best suited to your particular tastes. Discovery's streaming service is not going to replace a fantastic service like Netflix (that's right, we said fantastic — read our Netflix review to see why), but Discovery Plus can serve as a great supplement if you have a deep love for reality TV, culinary-themed shows, and home improvement series. There are few streaming services that offer this array of non-fiction content.
While Discovery Plus does offer access to a large portion of the catalog of most of the channels they feature, they do not offer live streaming. So if you’re interested in watching episodes right as they air, this probably isn’t the best service for you.
Overall, with such a variety of content, you certainly won’t be bored if you do decide to give Discovery Plus a try. But if you’re still looking for a streaming service that includes live TV, you might want to check out fuboTV or see if Hulu + Live TV is worth it. Other alternatives include Hulu's on-demand version, which includes some interesting reality TV and educational content and scored high marks in our Hulu review.
