What Channel Are the CMT Music Awards On? What Time Do the CMT Music Awards Start?

The CMT Music Awards focus solely on video performances in country music, with awards chosen by a fan voting process. Most categories closed for voting on April 1, but the biggest award — Video of the Year — is currently in the second round of voting and will continue through April 7. Kelsea Ballerini will host the ceremony for the fourth year in a row, and she’s also among the nominees for Video of the Year. 

The event will feature live performances by artists including Bailey Zimmerman, Keith Urban, and Jelly Roll. The biggest names in country music are likely to make an appearance during the red carpet preshow, which will stream live on CMT’s YouTube channel. The special June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award for artists giving back to their communities will go to industry veteran Trisha Yearwood. The event won’t return to its longtime home in Nashville, opting instead for a new tradition with its second year at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.
