Cord Cutting Guides, News, and Reviews
Lifetime’s dramas and movies are always entertaining and sometimes realistic. When it comes to crazy plots, though, it doesn’t get much crazier than the one cable has been able to pull off for far too long. Cable and satellite companies are charging viewers through the nose — even though it’s possible to watch Lifetime without cable.
Lifetime’s cable movies and programming aren’t actually cable-specific at all. If you learn how to watch Lifetime without cable, you can save big bucks on your bills while still enjoying all the content you love. So what are you waiting for?
Here are a few of our favorite ways to stream Lifetime:
Lifetime isn’t free, but that doesn’t mean it should be bundled with a bunch of channels you don’t watch and sold as part of a bloated, overpriced package from an inefficient legacy pay TV company. Luckily, some smart people agree with us, and they came up with a new type of pay TV: the live TV streaming service. Many (but not all) of these services have slimmed-down channel bundles, which is why we sometimes call them “skinny bundles.” No matter what we call them, we can count on these services to replace cable at a lower price and deliver livestreams of our favorite networks. Here are the live TV streaming services that include Lifetime and allow you to watch it without cable.
Stream Lifetime with DIRECTV Stream
DIRECTV Stream is a very cablelike live TV streaming service. It offers huge channel bundles, impressive DVR features, and even a (strictly optional) long-term contract. If you miss cable, this is a great way to get the live TV experience back. DIRECTV Stream includes a Lifetime livestream with every bundle.
Stream Lifetime for free with Philo
Philo is another strong option for watching Lifetime without cable. This skinny bundle’s appeal is largely its very attractive price — Philo is much cheaper than the competition. Philo’s prices are so low because it ditches the most expensive channels (mostly sports and news) and delivers the rest for less. If Philo’s channel lineup matches your tastes, then we think you’ll like it as much as we did in our Philo review. Check out the service for free by taking advantage of the weeklong Philo free trial offer.
Stream Lifetime for free with Hulu
Hulu + Live TV comes to us, naturally, from on-demand streaming giant Hulu. Hulu + Live TV offers a selection of great channels that includes a Lifetime livestream — perfect for watching Lifetime without cable. For more of our thoughts on Hulu + Live TV, take a look at our Hulu review. For more of your own thoughts on Hulu + Live TV, you’ll have to sign up for the service’s free trial.
Stream Lifetime with Sling TV
Sling TV lets you customize your skinny bundle. Starting with one (or both) of two base bundles, you can customize your final product by adding “extras,” which are mini bundles of channels grouped by category. That allows you to pay only for the channels you actually want to watch. Build a custom bundle and start watching Lifetime without cable! Read our Sling TV review to learn more.
Lifetime movies may not be made for movie theaters, but that doesn’t mean you want to watch them on tiny screens. You want to use your Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, or Chromecast to put your Lifetime livestream on your biggest TV, right? Good news: These streaming services work great on major platforms.
That’s a lot of platforms to use to watch Lifetime without cable, and a lot of services to use on those platforms! Which one is right for you? That’s the fun part: You can sign up for some free trials and find out. There are links in the headers and beneath each section, so venture forth and find out the best way to watch Lifetime without cable for you. Feel free to check out our reviews for more guidance.
This is inaccurate. FuboTV no longer includes Lifetime in its channels.
