Thankfully for fans of Fox News and other cable news networks, those days are over. It's now possible to watch cable news without cable. Read on to get the full scoop!

Fox News is a member of the Big 3 cable networks, along with CNN and MSNBC. CNN, the first 24-hour news network, is generally seen as more centrist. Fox News tends to have a right-leaning perspective, while MSNBC has a reputation for leaning left. No matter which cable news channel you prefer, the best part is that you no longer need cable for any of them.

Not many people can leave their TV on all day, yet still want a rundown on what’s happening. One option is “60 Minutes.” True to its name, you get in-depth information on various issues, from entertainment to politics, all in one hour.

I have Roku and a Buisness internet subscription with Spectra (Charter Communications) however, my provider will not allow access to Fox Network News unless I have a t.v. subscription.
    Is this legal?

The American MSM are corrupt propaganda organs that function to influence the attitudes of the gullible US public – all to the advantage of the occult special interests that directly – or indirectly own them ..
To circumvent all of this trash reportage It more advisable to rely on media outside the USA ..eg. the Japanese Shimbuns , News from Hong Kong , India , Europe, South America , AlJazeera , etc. The US sources prey on the basic ignorance and provincial mentality of most Americans !

    1. Diane Jeffcoat says:

Excellent comment. Totally agree. The heads of the Democrat Party feed off their idea that their constituents are illiterate. The shame here is that about 50% ARE!!! But about 40% of that 50% are ignorant of the Truth because they’ve listened to the propaganda machine from the time they were young and never questioned it bc they thought the Democrats really cared for them. The ill states, on the other hand, are so bc the Democrats have deliberately kept them in a vacuum of bad school systems that teach social ideology over Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic. The party heads have kept economic factors that force the impoverished to remain victims of government handouts and force more into the system each day. This is all done in order that they can be The Savior of the Poor and Needy….selling themselves as Warriors of the forlorn while simply using the guise for their own power play. Their hate for Trump is fueled by the fact that he’s cleaning house and revealing the lies and aristocracy of the so-called Washington Deep State. He’s not their for a power play. He’s truly representing and working for ‘We Tge People’ and that’s why they’re so desperate to shut him down.

  7. Steve Sybesma says:

I don’t do bundles, skinny or otherwise.

I’ll wait until can pay for the channel as a standalone. $5 a month seems reasonable since I have to watch their commercials too.

  8. Joseph says:

Have cut cable and have FireSticks, love PlutoTV and BlumebergNews. ALL IS FREE. Fox News has become TOXIC. Only about 30% is watchable anymore due to neverTrumpers showing up and getting to make up their own versions of reality. I still like a few programs but unwilling to package for a failing channel.

    1. Bob says:

Ir you watch Blumeberg news and you are calling Fox News “toxic”; I think it’s clear where you’re coming from (another liberal attempting to appear conservative).

      1. Jack says:

Try ONE AMERICA NEWS….available as a $6/month app. The new Fair and Balanced news network.

  9. Michael R Mathias Jr. says:

I just installed Sling, and now have learned there is NO FOX NEWS on Sling and the $$ I pay Sling will not allow me to use FOxNews App like a different streaming service would. I wont be able to watch FoxNews anymore.anymore.

    1. patti j mosley says:

I’m not sure but I think you need sling blue to get Fox News at $25 a month package

  10. J. McDowell says:

I was getting WACH Fox with an antenna attached to my TV until a few days ago. Now I get a message that there is no signal. WHAT HAPPENED??? Thank you.

    1. Stephen Lovely says:

You might want to try moving the antenna or re-scanning for channels. Short of that, maybe you need a bigger antenna or an amplifier to add to your current antenna. Good luck!

    2. J Peavey says:

This is most likely because of the FCC Broadcast TV “RePack” which is having over-the-air broadcasters shift their real broadcast frequencies closer together, to free up higher frequencies for new RF applications. There are several phases of this repacking effort, so at least once every 2 or 3 months, you will need to go into your tuner’s settings and perform a new channel scan to find your channels at their new frequencies. Even at the new frequencies, the displayed channel number should not change because of the way ATSC allows virtualized channel numbers.

      https://www.rabbitears.info/tvq.php?request=items&facid=19199

I looked up the repack information for WACH. On this technical info page, you can see the old frequency was UHF 22 and the new frequency is UHF 48. The license to use UHF 22 expired in September, so they had to vacate that frequency before that date. But according to the FCC records, 48 is the final home for the foreseeable future.

    1. Bosco says:

You have to log into your TV Service Provider, hence a subscription is still needed.

    2. Paul says:

Not free when I try to use it. After not many steps, I’m forced to login with my cable tv subscriber. Although I use comcast for internet access, I don’t have any cable tv package, and when I login with my comcast credentials I’m told that my service doesn’t include this.

  13. Mary Pfeiffer says:

Playstation Vue is discontinued Jan 30, 2020

  14. Valerie Grisham says:

Playstation Vue will be ending January 30 2020. Very disappointed!!!! It was my go to service for Fox! Appears we will be forced to Youtube TV.

  15. T Girton says:

MSM is totally corrupt, these people live in their own “snow-globe”, they echo the same message with fake news and fake outrage. If one of them fall out of line and attempt to report the truth they get attacked by the fake outrage groups – this gets scary. Our own press is failing the people and protecting our democracy. I fear for our children and the future of our country. Democrats are falling into the Russian and Chinese traps and destroying our “free-press”, they’re stirring up a lot of the online misinformation that feed the youth of our country thru message group: reddit, etc.

  16. Russell says:

you all could just go to walmart buy an inexpensive indoor antenna and be done with that I have Roku and an indoor antenna and all is good.

  17. Allan says:

Is there a way to stream Fox News live directly from Fox News without any provider? If not can you get it through Fox Nation or does Fox Nation offer recorded shows from Fox News?

    1. Pam says:

      Ustv.go

  18. Emily Bishop says:

If you know someone with Fox news and they give you their login and password, in theory you could log into their account using the Fox news app. My issue is, Roku is dropping all Fox apps after tonight (1/31/20) – does fire stick have a Fox News app?

    1. mark3:26 says:

Yes but when we cut Spectrum cable but kept the internet I could not get the live feed thru Firestick or Roku.
      Ours was TWC, now Spectrum.

  19. CRG2020 says:

It defeats the purpose of cutting the cable when you have to go subscribe and just out the money to another place. Rip offs. I just won’t watch any more.

  20. Brad says:

Fox Nation app has Fox News Live. $5.99 a month or $64 a year. It’s they cheapest legal way to get FN live along with a bunch of other programming and most of Fox’s programs VOD. The app is available with Fire TV, Roku, etc.

    1. Nicole P says:

Actually, subscribing to Fox Nation doesn’t allow you to watch live nor does it allow you to watch old episodes of their only good news show, Tucker Carlson. Source: paid for it yesterday, cancelled this morning.

  21. Curmudgen5 says:

Brad, On your comment, I added the Fox Nation channel to my Roku lineup. I clicked on “Live News” and was able to watch the news for 5 minutes then was cut off and asked to “sign in with your provider”. Thanks for nothing.

    1. Inga says:

Brad from your app page you can watch about 5 min of Fox News at a time. Click over to the big box That is to the right of the apps listed then click back to Fox News. I’ve been doing this for about a month. This is the only way to get it free that I know of yes it is a hassle but I get my fix of Fox

  22. JackT says:

Thanks Curmudgen5 for your comment. You saved me and a lot of other people from wasting their time heeding Brad bogus information. This thread, “How to Watch Fox News Without Cable” and talking about cutting the cord is click bait. They prey on people who want to cut their cable bill and then offer more expensive solutions than cable, and you need the cord to get to the Internet.

  23. Darren Boyd says:

Sling added FNC to their Blue plan a while back.

    https://www.sling.com/service

Not a bad deal for $30 plus applicable taxes for your region. It is pretty skinny though… no ESPN’s and such, but you can combine Blue and Orange for $45 plus taxes.

Vidgo is also out there for $40 plus taxes.

    https://www.vidgo.com/

Granted, you still need a way to get locals and the interfaces are lacking…

Set up a long range clearstream outdoor antenna in the attic (the funky figure 8 looking one with the dipole antennas sticking out of it) and an RCA preamp so I could feed the signal through in-house wiring to 2 other TV’s for a little over $100 bucks. Had to re-aim it a few times before I found the sweet spot for our area, but it has been solid for almost 2 years now for all our locals and even some not normally in our lineup through Spectrum.

I keep checking with standalone apps to see if Sling will synch up, but no luck yet for FNC… keep messaging them about working something out… who knows, maybe one day they will.

Also ask them for a standalone deal akin to Disney+. We really could get by with an a la carte FNC sub with just that and Hulu outside of Football season. Shame that both FNC and ESPN missed such a great opportunity with their “premium” subscription plans….

Pretty much the only thing we watch within the Sling app is FNC and a couple shows we track through their limited DVR. Have the $6 on-demand only Hulu plan for access to a lot of shows on the major networks that I can pull up after airing, so don’t really need a lot of DVR space.

For us, we are getting all we need outside of football for right at $40 this way (sling blue, Hulu on demand only, good antenna setup). If college football kicks off, might give Vidgo a trial for the ESPN/ACCN access at $40… otherwise, can do the full Sling deal for $45.

Either option would still keep things under $60 after taxes, which beats Spectrum’s standard broadcast package rates and gives a better lineup than their $30-40 skinny streaming options (they still stack FCC fees and such onto the cheaper streaming only options).

Now if we could just get a handle on the internet pricing…

ATT fiber expansion stopped just a few miles short of our neighborhood, so Spectrum still has a bit of a monopoly on actual broadband internet here.

  24. Art G says:

This is so stupid. This isn’t cord cutting in the slightest. The whole reason to give up cable/satellite service is because of the cost and look how much Hulu charges. Absolutely insane! I bought the Fox Nation service specifically so that I could stream FNC and come to find out I have to login to my TV service provider. I was so pissed! Well, I wasn’t going back to Hulu for love TV service, that’s forsure. Instead I have SlingTV a try and I’m still with them. Although, it’s not the greatest but better than Hulu for FNC at least. What really bothers me is the SlingTV commercials they insert over the cable commercials. They’re absolutely horrible! When the hell is Fox going to let us stream FNC with a Fox Nation subscription?!

  25. Joey says:

I just discovered this morning that the “delayed ” FNC clips, are no longer available on my Roku . Anyone know anything about this?
