Paramount Plus is worth checking out — especially considering the generous Paramount Plus free trial. But ViacomCBS's streaming service isn't for everyone, and the time may come when you want to cancel Paramount Plus. If this sounds like you, have no fear: We're here to show you how to cancel Paramount Plus once and for all (or until you go back for another free trial, anyway).

How to Cancel Paramount Plus: Where Did You Sign Up?

We're about to show you how to cancel Paramount Plus on the service's website. First, though, a quick word of warning: If you signed up for Paramount Plus through another company, then you may have to go elsewhere to cancel.

What does that mean? It just means that services like this sometimes let users sign up through a middleman. For example, you may have signed up for Paramount Plus as an “Amazon Channel” on your Amazon Prime Video account. If you did that, then you're paying through Amazon, not through Paramount Plus itself. To manage a subscription like that, you'll just have to hop on your Amazon account and navigate to your subscription settings. Things will work similarly if you signed up on your iPhone (check your general settings on iOS for subscription management options), through your Roku, and so on. (Generally, Paramount Plus’ pricing will be the same no matter who is handling the billing.)

Don’t worry, though: We’ll show you how to cancel Paramount Plus on a few common devices and platforms below. First, though, let's see how we can cancel on Paramount Plus' own website.

Step 1: Go to ParamountPlus.com and Sign In

Let's start with the simplest thing: To tell Paramount Plus you want to cancel, you'll need to log into your account. Head to ParamountPlus.com and sign in.

Step 2: Navigate to “Account”

Paramount Plus website user menu

If you're signed in, you should spot your name in the upper-right corner of the screen. Hover over it to reveal a drop-down menu, and then select “Account” to check out your account settings.

Step 3: Cancel Your Paramount Plus Subscription

Take a quick look over your Account page, and you should see a section labeled “Subscription & Billing.” This part of the page will have information about your subscription, including your plan (Limited Commercials or Premium), free trial status, current subscription price, next billing date, and more. At the bottom of this section, you'll see a row labeled “Subscription” and a link next to it labeled “Cancel Subscription.” Since canceling your Paramount Plus subscription is what you plan to do, go ahead and click on that.

Paramount Plus cancel subscription option

Paramount Plus will try to get you to stay (keep an eye out for discount offers — they might offer you one to try to keep you in the fold). If you're sure you want to go, just confirm your cancellation.

How to Cancel Paramount Plus on an iPhone or Android Phone

If you signed up for Paramount Plus using an Apple device such as your iPhone or iPad, you can cancel your subscription there. Here’s the process:

  • Open the “Settings” app (the general one for the whole iOS device) and click your account name.
  • Click on “Subscriptions.”
  • Select Paramount Plus from the list (if you don’t see it, then you must not have signed up on your iOS device!).
  • Select “Cancel Subscription” and confirm.

If you signed up for the service using your Android app, cancel by following these steps:

  • Open Google Play Store.
  • Tap the Menu button and click on “Subscriptions.”
  • Choose Paramount Plus from the list.
  • Select “Cancel Subscription” and confirm.

How to Cancel Paramount Plus on Apple TV (4th Generation and Later)

If you want to cancel your Paramount Plus subscription via your Apple TV device, do the following:

  • Open Settings.
  • Click on “Users & Accounts” and select your account.
  • Click on Subscriptions.
  • Select Paramount Plus, then select “Cancel Subscription.”

How to Cancel Paramount Plus on Fire TV

If you want to cancel your Paramount Plus subscription via your Fire TV, follow these steps:

  • Open Your “Memberships and Subscriptions.”
  • Click on “Manage Subscription” located next to the subscription you'd like to cancel.
  • Select “Manage Your Prime Video Channels.”
  • Select “Paramount Plus.”
  • Select “Cancel Channel” and confirm.

And there you have it! Now you know how to cancel Paramount Plus. It's not a tough thing to do once you've found the right website and have remembered that weird password you used. But now that you're unfettered by the Paramount Plus monthly subscription fee, perhaps you'll want to dip your toe back into the streaming waters. To that end, we offer some humble suggestions. Read on for more cancellation details, and stay tuned for our favorite Paramount Plus alternatives.

Subscription Costs, Free Trials, and Refunds: What to Know About Canceling Paramount Plus

We liked Paramount Plus, but it’s not for everyone. Once you've cut ties with the service, your subscription will end as soon as your current “pay period” runs out. That just means that whenever you'd next be billed, the service will be canceled instead. The “Subscription & Billing” section of the “Account” page will show you when that date will be. Up until that day, you'll still be able to use Paramount Plus. That's only fair, considering you paid for it! Paramount Plus does not typically offer refunds on subscription fees, so keep an eye on that “Next Billing Date” section on your Account page if you want to avoid unnecessary expenses. If you cancel the day before you're billed, you'll be all set — but if you wait until the day after, you'll be out a few bucks, because your cancellation will only take effect for the next billing period.

So You Decided to Cancel Paramount Plus – What Should You Try Next?

Maybe Paramount Plus wasn't for you, but that's okay. There’re still a lot of great streaming services out there to try!

If you tried Paramount Plus because you love CBS, then you might want to check out our article on how to watch CBS without cable. It'll give you lots of great options for streaming CBS, including Hulu + Live TV and fuboTV. You should also keep in mind that CBS is a broadcast network, meaning it's available as a part of free over-the-air TV in some areas.

If you liked Paramount Plus' on-demand content, then maybe another on-demand subscription would suit you. Disney Plus is one of the most popular streaming services on the market right now, and it shares Paramount Plus' relatively low monthly cost. If you're willing to pay a bit more, we'd suggest Max, which we consider one of the best streaming services available.

    10. tobyj says:

It is not working there is a banner that states “Oops something went wrong, try again later. ” And usually when you were canceling something the last thing that you ever wanna to see is “Oops, try again later.”

I have tried on iOS on windows and mobile.

      1. ADS says:

I’m having the same issue; after hitting “Complete Cancelation” a banner message is displayed in red at the top “(!) Something went wrong! Please try again later.”. Have tried with several browsers. Interestingly, on the Account page, it shows my CBS All Access Plan is “Subscribe now!”, although my streaming devices all correctly show my plan as Commercial Free.

      2. Jessie says:

        Same here! Getting frustrated.

        1. Anonymous says:

Same here, called them the guy who was working from home and half ignoring me was not able to help, emailed them they sent me generic directions how to cancel, emailed them again and then they finally canceled it from their end.
They still will not admit there is a problem with the account management page….

    14. Liz R says:

You are so right. I’ve never used a streaming service that makes it so difficult to cancel. I’ll never sign up for it again if I can find out how to cancel. I’m being chargd monthly and there is no cancel service on the web page. It shows I cancelled but I keep getting charged. No one answers at their provided telephone number. No one has answered email or Twitter. Ridiculous.

  2. debra cargill says:

I called 1-888-274-5343 to cancel.

  22. BUST THESE CROOKS says:

I signed up via my Roku. I couldn’t cancel on the Roku. Went on-line, read this blog. Then went to the CBS site as stated above. They said I have to delete via my Roku. Went onto the Roku. Again, couldn’t cancel. Called CBS. Went through menus. Eventually the recording told me to log into Roku. Logged into Roku and was finally able to cancel. What I learned from this is sign up for your services via Roku as they make it easy to cancel.

  25. Kristy St. Clair says:

ALL of the above apply to me. What’s the answer??
